Stormy Beach

Do you believe in a dream come true?
Do you believe it when they say you’ll pull through?
Could it be that they’re just feeling pity?
And you’re not falling for it now, Mr. Witty

It’s seem to be an illusion, but you’ve surpassed
Turn to the epilogue and happily ever after clearly doesn’t last
But could I be wrong, simply addicted to my past?
Maybe I’m just afraid that time’s going by too fast

Standing alone on a stormy beach
Shipwrecked by my own uncertainties
I’m lost in thought
Without tools to build my heart in whole
Some pieces are shattered, others are stole
And I’m lost in thought
In my mind I’m caught

What is the point of going on we wonder sometimes
Why do we love those who evidently hurt our lives?
Don’t they tell you they care and disappear?
I wish I could travel back and listen to what I didn’t hear

I’ve been told a million times it’ll be better soon
When I’m sitting by the window crying to the moon
Wishing I could fly awhile attached to the string of a balloon
Is it possible I’m baffled in a self-created tycoon?

Standing alone on a stormy beach
Shipwrecked by my own uncertainties
I’m lost in thought
Without tools to build my heart in whole
Some pieces are shattered, others are stole
And I’m lost in thought
In my mind I’m caught

Oh, it’s a dangerous thing to permit the mind
This much time for thinking
Solitary moments when we’re reminiscing
Half of it is beautiful, but when you’ve lingered too long
The clouds turn grey, the sky fills with dismay
Philosophical contemplations gone disarray
So row a while and then return home or you’ll be

Standing alone on a stormy beach
Shipwrecked by my own uncertainties
I’m lost in thought
Without tools to build my heart in whole
Some pieces are shattered, others are stole
And I’m lost in thought
(Repeat x1)

In my mind I’m caught
