Guilty Innocent

Guilty creature, that I am, crying so softly
Can you see my tears?
Shame is no game, like love and unlike fame
I don't why I am here

It wasn't my fault, well, at least I meant no harm
Please believe me, dears
I was panicked, I was afraid, looking for shade
Your torch lights made me queer

I apologize
See it in my eyes
I'm sorry for what neither you nor I know
I apologize
Even I am surprised
That you'd think my sincerity is a show

I stepped in shadows unprepared as usual
I thought I'd gained control
How could I have expected to appear so unprotected
And that you'd mistaken my fall?

You found a witness who equally mistrusts
Now I'm guilty innocent
I committed no crime, but in such short time
You caught me nervous and bent

I apologize
See it in my eyes
I'm sorry for what neither you nor I know
I apologize
Even I am surprised
That you'd think my sincerity is a show

I don't have proof of the truth
I wish you'd accept my word to you
I promise, oh, I promise
I lied to save my innocence

So I apologize
See it in my eyes
I'm sorry for what neither you nor I know
I apologize
Even I am surprised
That you'd think my sincerity is a show

I apologize
Oooh, I apologize
I hope we can both let go
