One Moment In Time

I can't walk New York City streets anymore

I can't go where poverty still reigns

Because I've never felt so torn before

When I see just one tear I feel too much pain

But it doesn't take a tear to get me hurting this bad

It doesn't take a frown to make me feel this way

It takes just the thought of the life they could've had

And how while the ignorant speak they cannot say

Open your eyes

See all that's become

Spread your arms wide

And embrace all who still run

Far from the shadow

Of misfortune close behind

Could you open your hearts for just

One moment in time

I can't visit the culture of India beyond this day

I can't visit much of Europe where it stands

Because such cruelty, pure darkness added to the bright rays

Is deserved by no beast or any man nor Mother Nature's lands

But it doesn't take bloodshed to get me hurt this bad

It doesn't take a scorched forest to make me feel this way

It takes just the thought of the life they could've had

And how while the ignorant speak that cannot say

Open your eyes

See all that's become

Spread your arms wide

And embrace all who still run

Far from the shadow

Of misfortune close behind

Could you open your hearts for just

One moment in time

The difference it would make

If we spared one breath

One smile, one word

Hope...

Home

Joy

Love

If we could give

And soon when all has fallen

When tears flood the streets

Will we wait till then to regret it all

Will we then realize the truth of reality

Until then I have no home

Until then I am alone

And I speak for all who share this pain with me

If only we could spare

One moment in time
